This thing might be semi-accurate up to about 3 or 4 drinks but past that absolutely and completely off the mark.I recieved one, tried it many many times (following the guidelines in the handbook), and finally sent it back and they replaced it with a brand new one.Rinse and repeat... a couple of times it has registered me at a .40 .... evidentally i was dead at the time.Might as well buy something much cheaper, because it can't be off by much more than this thing. Do not use the BACTRACK S50 as a tool to determine whether you should operate a motor vehicle or equipment, or perform any other dangerous act. Always have a designated driver when alcohol is being consumed.

Directions
Insert a disposable mouthpiece then press the POWER button to turn on the BACTRACK. The total number of tests performed since the last service is briefly displayed and then a countdown sequence begins.
When the countdown approaches 10, begin to inhale a deep breath. When the countdown reaches zero, the READY light will flash and two beeps will sound. Blow hard, continuously, for five full seconds. While a user is blowing, the BACTRACK will sound a continuous tone.
Keep blowing until two beeps are heard. Once the sensor technology has analyzed the breath sample, the estimated BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) value is flashed on the screen.

BACtrack Select S80 Breathalyzer Professional Edition Review

I purchased the BacTrack S80 in August from amazon and I am extremely pleased with the product.First and probably most important, it seems to give very accurate results.Three years ago I received one of those cheap keychain units as a gift and it read all over the map and never worked well.Here, with this product, if I test myself 3 times in a row I get the same test result 3 times, so you know it's consistent.And if I test a sober person and then a very drunk person, there is no crossover or contamination, which is something I worried about (and really researched) before this purchase.So $199 is not cheap, but you get what you pay for here in terms of accuracy.

Besides being happy with the accuracy, I really like the small size.I have an LG Envy phone and the Bactrack S80 is almost the same size.I didn't consider size prior to my purchase, but because it's portable, I'm much more likely to take the BacTrack out when I drink, which is really the whole point of having it.

I appreciate the advanced features and being able to adjust the flow settings, but mainly I just turn it on and test.As of today, I'm already on test # 144.Yeah, it's been passed around and used by a lot of people already.5 stars for its accuracy and reliability alone.

I own several different electronic blood pressure testers, and each of them gives a different value when I test my blood pressure. Some register higher and others lower. It can be confusing and cause problems.

Some time back I rushed off to an emergency hospital thinking my blood pressure had gone through the roof, because my expensive new electronic tester showed my blood pressure kept going up every few minutes.

All that had gone up was my systolic pressure because of the panic and fear caused by the wrong diastolic reading on the machine.

With the old fashioned sphygmomanometer I can always see very quickly where my blood pressure is at. I can soon tell when it has gone excessively high, and I don't have the fear of waiting while the electronic tester pumps and repumps and slowly ticks down to reveal a high blood pressure.

Talk about white coat hypertension? I think these electronic testers cause it more than sitting in a doctors office.

If your bp fluctuates a lot I highly recommend you get this simple tester. It comes with the stethoscope connected making it really easy to test your pressure any time.

It takes a bit of practice to use it, but you need to go slow and not be in a hurry to let the air out too quickly, or you miss the readings. But the great thing is you can very quickly pump up and find the top reading, and very quickly let it out to find the bottom reading, without waiting through the painful beeping of the other electronic monitors until the final reading shows.

Try using it on both arms also to compare readings. And you will soon get to know your body and your regular blood pressure readings. Then you can confirm with the other monitors and see how accurate or inaccurate they are.

Polar S725X Pro Team Tour de France Edition Heart Rate Monitor Watch with Free Cadence Sensor Review

I purchased the s725 as single device to replace my heart rate monitor and bike computer.The s725 seemed to offer all the cycling features, in addition to being a full featured heart rate monitor.While it was certainly not cheap, I am satisfied with my purchase.

In terms of cycling features, it offers everything you would expect: speed, altitude, temperature, cadence and power (both with optional sensor).Both the speed and cadence sensors are wireless and have worked very well despite my worries (I don't own the power sensor, so I can't comment on how well it works).The only time I have encountered interference is when I'm using my HID headlight, and even then it doesn't happen very often.My only gripe here is that both the speed and cadence sensor are kind of big and ugly.Also, the speed sensor can only be mounted on the front of the bike (or so they say).I'd like to have the option to mount it on the rear wheel so I can record speed and distance while using an indoor trainer.

The more general features of the s725 really set it apart from other HRMs.First, each type of data, including heart rate and all of the cycling data can be recorded for the duration of your workout.You can select a sampling rate of every 5, 10, or 15 seconds to ensure the s725 has enough memory for your workout.I record every piece of data except power at 5 second intervals and can usually store about 8 hours of exercise.This is very convenient since you don't have to download your data after every workout.

While I'm on the topic of data recording, I should mention the included software since it is a key piece the s725's appeal.Using an infrared link you can download and manage your workouts using Polar's software.It keeps track of your workouts using a calendar view and allows you to see (and customize) graphs for each of your training sessions.Additionally, you can program the watch (intervals and other options) using the software, saving yourself the fumbling with the small watch buttons.

Anyway, back to the main functionality.During your workout the screen shows three rows of data, which you can rotate using the various buttons on the watch.I like to keep heart rate in the large middle row and then rotate among cadence, time and other pieces of information in the top row as my workout progresses.If you go outside any heart rate bounds you have set the watch will warn you by blinking the heart rate display or emit an audible signal.

So what's wrong with it?My biggest gripe is that the interval training functionality is very inflexible.An interval is defined in terms of heart rate or time, an optional recovery period after each interval and the number of interval repetitions.This means that every interval must be exactly the same.Unfortunately, I have some interval workouts where each interval is a different length.There is no way to program this into the watch so I have to punch the "lap" button every time I begin/end one of these intervals and monitor the lap time throughout the interval.An HRM in this price range should really have more flexible interval configuration.

Before I wrap up, I should mention that the chest strap is vastly improved and much more comfortable than prior models.All but one short segment, which sits in the middle of your chest, is entirely flexible, even the electrodes.
