This thing might be semi-accurate up to about 3 or 4 drinks but past that absolutely and completely off the mark.I recieved one, tried it many many times (following the guidelines in the handbook), and finally sent it back and they replaced it with a brand new one.Rinse and repeat... a couple of times it has registered me at a .40 .... evidentally i was dead at the time.Might as well buy something much cheaper, because it can't be off by much more than this thing. Do not use the BACTRACK S50 as a tool to determine whether you should operate a motor vehicle or equipment, or perform any other dangerous act. Always have a designated driver when alcohol is being consumed.

Directions
Insert a disposable mouthpiece then press the POWER button to turn on the BACTRACK. The total number of tests performed since the last service is briefly displayed and then a countdown sequence begins.
When the countdown approaches 10, begin to inhale a deep breath. When the countdown reaches zero, the READY light will flash and two beeps will sound. Blow hard, continuously, for five full seconds. While a user is blowing, the BACTRACK will sound a continuous tone.
Keep blowing until two beeps are heard. Once the sensor technology has analyzed the breath sample, the estimated BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) value is flashed on the screen.

BACtrack Select S80 Breathalyzer Professional Edition Review

I purchased the BacTrack S80 in August from amazon and I am extremely pleased with the product.First and probably most important, it seems to give very accurate results.Three years ago I received one of those cheap keychain units as a gift and it read all over the map and never worked well.Here, with this product, if I test myself 3 times in a row I get the same test result 3 times, so you know it's consistent.And if I test a sober person and then a very drunk person, there is no crossover or contamination, which is something I worried about (and really researched) before this purchase.So $199 is not cheap, but you get what you pay for here in terms of accuracy.

Besides being happy with the accuracy, I really like the small size.I have an LG Envy phone and the Bactrack S80 is almost the same size.I didn't consider size prior to my purchase, but because it's portable, I'm much more likely to take the BacTrack out when I drink, which is really the whole point of having it.

I appreciate the advanced features and being able to adjust the flow settings, but mainly I just turn it on and test.As of today, I'm already on test # 144.Yeah, it's been passed around and used by a lot of people already.5 stars for its accuracy and reliability alone.
